When you apply for a briefing
- Full name, business email address, company name, and role
- Firm size, sector, and current intelligence process
- Any additional notes you choose to provide
When you visit this website
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited
- We do not use third-party tracking cookies
3. How we use your data
- To assess your briefing application and determine suitability
- To deliver our intelligence service if you become a partner
- To communicate with you about Sightline and related services
- To improve our website and service
4. Legal basis for processing
- Consent - when you submit a briefing application
- Legitimate interest - to assess whether our service is suitable for your firm, and to improve our offering
- Contract - to deliver services to partners under agreed terms
5. Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers who assist in delivering our service:
- n8n (workflow automation) - EU hosted
- Airtable (CRM and data management) - US, with EU Standard Contractual Clauses
- Vercel (website hosting) - edge network, primary EU region
- Google Workspace (email) - with appropriate data processing agreements
We never sell personal data to third parties.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the UK. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the ICO, or transfers to countries with adequacy decisions.
7. How long we keep data
- Briefing applications (not accepted): 24 months, then deleted
- Partner data: duration of partnership plus 6 years (legal and regulatory requirements)
- Website analytics: 12 months
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
